Price History

The trade-in price history of Xperia Z Ultra generally shows a decline. In other words, the used prices of this device are dropping as newer models come to market. It is only very rarely that a second-hand electrical device will increase in price; this usually happens for example if it's a collector's item. Therefore if you are looking to sell your Xperia Z Ultra then it probably makes sense to do it sooner rather than later - before the next price drop.

About Sony Xperia Z Ultra?

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra was introduced in 2013 and was renowned for being the world’s slimmest full HD smartphone. It was also the first smartphone that allowed its users to take notes by drawing on the screen with a pen or pencil. Often referred to as a ‘Phablet’ the Xperia Z Ultra has all of the features of a normal Xperia Z smartphone but is considerably larger with it’s 6.44 inch full HD display.

Like many phones from the Xperia Z range, the Z Ultra is protected from dust and water and can be immersed in up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. It is also shatterproof and scratch resistant.

The Xperia Z Ultra had the same design as the previous Xperia Z model. This was a combination of tempered glass on both the front and rear of the phone, and a metal frame. The Xperia Z Ultra was highly regarded as an attractive looking gadget that featured minimalistic style with a premium feel to it.

The Xperia Z Ultra was designed with usability in mind. The metal frame allows the phone to be held comfortably with one hand, and the phone itself was designed to be the same width as a passport so that it could still fit easily into a normal jacket pocket. When released it was available in three different colours: Black, white and purple.

The main attraction of the Xperia Z Ultra is the screen. Not only is it larger than all other smartphones at 6.44 inches in diameter, but it’s also a full HD (1080p) display with 342 pixels per inch. This screen was built with an integrated OptiContract panel which reduces reflection and allows for clearer viewing in bright sunlight. The touchscreen technology is scratch resistant and highly responsive which means that it is compatible with a stylus as well as a normal pencil or metal pen.

The fact that the Xperia Z Ultra is waterproof means that it can be taken to the pool or beach and be used in the bath or in the rain. The device is also capable of taking pictures underwater and in any light.

Overall the Xperia Z Ultra was was praised for it’s classy and stylish design, stunning display, slim form and impressive build quality.  These were all coupled with the usual powerful specifications that everyone has grown to expect from Sony. At just under £500 for a SIM Free model in 2013, the Xperia Z Ultra was by no means a cheap phone as it was in the same price range as the latest iPhone model. However compared to the iPhone you got a lot more for your money when it came to the overall performance and features. As a result the Xperia Z Ultra is can still cope well in today’s smartphone world. And even today, there has yet to be an iPhone that has been made dustproof, waterproof, scratchproof and shatterproof. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is a smartphone that was created years before it’s time.
