When it comes to smartphones, you get what you pay for. If you spend £100 then you can normally expect old technology and poor performance. However there are a handful of manufacturers who are working hard to buck the trend. Their aim is to offer the premium features and functionality for a fraction of the price of the flagship smartphones on the market.
The Honor 7S aims to take this principle quite literally. As well as solid performance it also offers plenty of attractive features. One of the most attractive being the price, at just £99.
The Honor 7S was originally supposed to be an entry-level smartphone. It has a 5.45 inch 18:9 display with a 720×1440 screen resolution. The display is large and the bezels are minimal, making it fit in with even the most modern of smartphones. Speed is not an issue, as it delivers a fast and responsive smartphone experience despite it’s low price tag. The Honor 7S features a 1.5GHz quad-core chipset, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of (expandable) storage.
In addition to a powerful spec, the Honor 7S also boasts a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera which features an LED selfie light, ensuring the user always has the correct lighting conditions. It also has a Loud Voice Call feature, which ensures that calls are clear even in noisy background environments. Refreshingly, it also features a large 3,020 mAh battery, which means that it can be operated for a decent length of time before needing a recharge. The Honor7S can also take 2 SIM cards, and it comes preloaded with the Android 8.1 operating system – meaning you can download the same apps as some of the most expensive, top-end smartphones.
Considering the price, the Honor 7S offers excellent value for money. It’s available in blue, black or gold from either Argos, Three or the Honor online store. We think it will prove to be quite a popular phone.
